Stupid Commenter Beatdown - Zombies v. WashingtonPost.com Readers, Who Ya Got?

Not worried about the dead rising from their graves?
Maybe you should be.
Normally, we steer clear of the WashingtonPost.com (WaPo if your cool) comments section, figuring that the readership over there is too smart for us to target.  Fortunately for us, this story (courtesy of The Mrs.) proves that even the fancy-pants websites aren't immune from our ridicule.

Since it comes from the TV section with tongue already firmly planted in cheek so our normal routine of needlessly criticizing the story itself might be curbed a tad.  Still, let's give it a shot.
A pack of zombies sent to the Lincoln Memorial to frighten commuters, terrorize women, and scare a year's growth out of local children were turned away by brave United States Park Police …

Fear and terror? Sounds like a normal morning commute, only its usually the inconsiderate instead of the undead.

Zombies traveled around Washington on Tuesday to freak out commuters and promote AMC's new series promised to us by basic cable AMC as it prepares to launch its zombie series "The Walking Dead" on Halloween -- turned into Zombies Politely Listen to Law Enforcement …

This photo is of the Park Police’s response.  Apparently, they didn’t quite get it was just a publicity stunt.  Park Police representative, Smokey T. Bear, attributed the officers conduct to their over excitement at the chance to "finally put on their real police gear."

After a short conversation with a non-un-dead official -she appeared to be the zombies's tour guide -- the zombies were led away obediently …

Thank god the Zombies found a tour guide.  Not many people know this but we’re facing a critical shortage of Zombie-fluent tour guides and we need YOUR help.  Think about how hard it can be for you to get around somewhere when you don't speak the language and then imagine how helpless you'd feel if all you can do is groan and make the occasional plea for “BRAINS!”, it’s a helpless feeling.  If you want to volunteer to help these poor soulless creatures to realize their dreams of international travel go to www.ZombieTravelGuides.com and sign up.
Yes, the zombies will try to eat your face - but they're law-abiding face-eaters …

If you go around eating faces, aren’t you by definition not “law-abiding”?

Thwarted in their efforts to eat some tourists faces and plug the new AMC horror series, the zombies crossed the street and wound up on Constitution Ave. between 22nd and 23rd streets NW, in front of the American Pharmacists Association, and became a tableau on the current state of health care …

As they looked out the window and saw the approaching zombie apocalypse, the pharmacists realized their six years of school weren't all for naught.

So what do you do when you have a story about brain-dead monsters and a politically-minded commentariat? You break-out the patented “Formulaic Comment Checklist.”

Blame the Left?

I figured it was writers for the Washington Post. They just do whatever the Democrats say.

Check. And …

oh............we thought it was the contaminated liberal/progressive young people showing up early for the Jon Stewart hate fest............

Double check. But wait there’s more …

The brain dead have been in the Senate for the last 4 years and in the white house since Jan 20th 2009.

Triple check.  Nice use of the exact inauguration day, so much funnier that way.

Meet the new Congress.

Check.

Make fun of those dumb, lazy government employees?

These losers have too much time on their hands. Must be Govt employees.

Check.  Good one, pgr88!! In their defense, thought, when government workers have too much time on their hands (which is everyday, amirite!) they're WAY too lazy to go around looking for brains to eat, when they too much time they just sleep on the job or comment on Internet stories.

Miss the entire point of the article and take things WAY too seriously?

It's commercial speech, not political or even artistically expressive...it was promoting an AMC series. Now if it was just an organized zombie walk...that would be a free speech issue as the recent ruling on religious pamphleteering which stated that no permit was needed, would apply.

Check. Also, thanks for the Con Law refresher. Nerd.

Blame the media?

D.C. isn't Hollywood. Why didn't they do this skit in Los Angeles where all the movie stars live?

Eh, close enough?

Warn against an uprising of undead corpses?

Let some in society continue to play or make fun at the black arts, Demons, and the dead. One day, these things might come true. I wonder how some would feel, all the dead in the cemeteries start rising from the grave and walking the streets of the earth? hehehe

Wait, what the hell? That one’s not on the list.  So not only doesn’t this guy want Hollywood assailing the morals of our nation’s capital, but he apparently has some very serious concerns (as evidenced by his presumably sinister laugh) that corpses are going to rise from their graves and seek revenge upon everyone who made fun of them.  We think that's totally reasonable.  Thanks for the warning Papa Shango.
